The Baxi Commercial Division Technical Team has been further strengthened by the recent addition of Jeff House as Applications Manager. Jeff, who has recently become a full member of CIBSE (the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers), has overall responsibility for understanding all products marketed under Baxi Commercial Division. He brings a wealth of knowledge about all products within Group that are suitable for use in the commercial sector, keeping abreast of and interpreting for colleagues all relevant legislation relating to the building services industry, checking compliance and liaising with government bodies and industry groups.
Jeff explains, "Because of the breadth of products now available from each of the brands, Andrews Water Heaters, Potterton Commercial and Baxi-SenerTec UK, it is possible to design many different heating and hot water solutions by selecting equipment from the portfolio. However, it is crucial to know the effects of integrating low carbon solutions with, say, high efficiency boilers or utilising two different LZC solutions within one system, as sometimes the efficiency benefits can be cancelled out. There may be a range of options that could be followed but usually there is one that will best meet the specification by achieving optimum performance, carbon and energy savings."
Jeff served his apprenticeship as a Design Engineer with a consultancy practise in Birmingham and attained an HNC in Building Services Engineering, adding several vocational qualifications during his career, including MinstLM (Institute of Leadership & Management). He worked with other consultancies in the commercial sector as a design engineer until joining Baxi Group in 2000 to set up the New Design department on the residential side of the business, developing it into a group solutions provider.
