Andrews Water Heaters supports local college

02/06/2010

Andrews Water Heaters has donated a HIflo 32/143 water heater, an RFF/190 standard range, atmospheric water heater and an unvented systems kit to Walsall College. These appliances will be installed in the Plumbing, Heating & Gas Department at the Green Lane Campus and will be used as a training aid for students of all ages, from school leavers to people already in the industry who wish to improve their skills.

This project is of personal significance to Sean Reynolds, Product Manager for Baxi Commercial Division, who oversaw the donation of the Andrews products. Sean trained at Walsall College after leaving school, before moving to the commercial side of the business. "I have fond memories of the College and, although it has changed a lot since I trained there, the standard of education is still excellent, said Sean. "I believe it is important to support your local education facility as much as possible, particularly as the future champions of the industry will be coming through courses such as those offered at Walsall."

Steve Price, ACS Co-ordinator, who has been liaising with Sean over the donation of the products, commented, "At Walsall, we work by the motto that if you're going to do something, you need to do it right, and this applies first and foremost to the education of our students. We are training and preparing the next generation of heating engineers and the high standard of their education is vital to our industry's future. At the same time, we need the skills, knowledge and connections of those already active in the industry to ensure our courses are bang up to date and to offer students the opportunity of valuable work experience and product knowledge.

We are delighted that companies like Baxi Commercial Division recognise the importance of this partnership for everyone involved so that, together, we can help ensure a healthy future for the industry" Steve added, "Now we have settled into our brand new facilities, the next thing we will be looking at is developing in-depth courses on Low to Zero Carbon (LZC) technologies. As Baxi Commercial Division has one of the widest ranges of LZC solutions available on the market, we are very pleased to have their knowledge and experience to draw upon."
