SOLARflo role in BREEAM Excellence

10/11/2011

Baxi Commercial Division has assisted The Building Centre in achieving an 'Excellence' rating during a recent BREEAM assessment. According to Colin Henderson, Chief Executive at The Building Centre, one of the major contributors to this result has been the installation of a solar thermal water heating system from Andrews Water Heaters. The system, consisting of 4m² of evacuated tubes, solar controls unit, pump station and expansion vessels, was installed last year and has since been providing low carbon hot water to the entire building.

Not content with reducing carbon emissions and running costs, Baxi Commercial Division has also set up a solar thermal electronic display on their permanent stand, situated in the Showcase Galleries at The Building Centre, which demonstrates the amount of energy being generated by the solar thermal system in current time.

Rebecca Johnson, Head of Marketing and Communications, Baxi Commercial Division, commented, "The Building Centre is a vibrant and inspirational source of information within the building services sector and provides an important service. We are delighted to help them achieve such an impressive efficiency rating in their own building, as well as contributing towards their educational facilities with a 'live' demonstration showing the benefits of solar thermal water heating. This mirrors our philosophy that the best way to educate others is to lead by example."
