Monkwray school benefits from high performance hot water delivery thanks to Andrews Water Heaters

16/02/2015

Following a standard condition survey, Cumbria County Council took the decision to upgrade the inefficient water heating system serving the busy school kitchens at Monkwray School in Whitehaven. The existing water heating source consisted of an old atmospheric boiler serving a 600 litre calorifier installed in the kitchen area of the school.

A 300 litre NEOflo water heater with an output of 25 kW was specified by NPS consulting engineers, working on behalf of Cumbria County Council, as a replacement to provide the school with more efficient and effective hot water delivery at high flow rates. With its excellent fuel efficiencies and ultra-low carbon and NOx emissions, the NEOflo unit is also contributing to the improved efficiency and environmental performance of the school building.

The compact design of the NEOflo has brought an additional advantage at Monkwray School as the water heater frees up extra valuable storage space in the kitchen area.

NEOflo water heaters are the perfect solution for schools like Monkwray where there is a steady demand for hot water. These superior quality units, which use highly durable stainless steel internal storage cylinders for a long service life, offer an impressive recovery rate of 430 litres per hour.

At Monkwray School, the NEOflo water heater is connected to the on-site Building Management System for maximum energy efficiency and savings.

  • Fully condensing water heater
  • High performance water delivery
  • Superior durable stainless steel storage cylinders
  • WRAS approved

Dave Grzelka, Principal Engineer, of NPS NorthWest, comments:
"We chose to use the NEOflo water heater as we are familiar with the quality of Andrews Water Heating products and the excellent technical back up they supply. We are extremely happy with the performance of the NEOflo water heater at Monkwray School and the service provided by Andrews throughout the project.”
